Born in Hamburg, Sielke Scheidt founded the "Institute for Education through Dance and Music" - her "Salzburger Spieltanzschule" - in Salzburg in 1955. With her new approach to teaching dance, she soon motivated a large number of ballet enthusiasts. Together with her daughter Lacerta, she developed the Spieltanzschule into a unique Salzburg institution for young and old. The exhibition spans a colorful arc from the history of the Salzburger Spieltanzschule to the lives of the two directors and their artistic work - largely unknown to the public -: Sielke Scheidt's painting and her daughter Lacerta's poetry. Stadtgalerie Rathaus Säulenhalle in the Rathaus, 1st floor Kranzlmarkt 1, 5020 Salzburg Opening hours: Mon-Thu 8 am-5 pm, Fri 8 am-1:30 pm. Closed on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays.
