Lecture by OStR Mag. Wolfgang Wintersteller On a virtual walk from Hallein to Kaltenhausen, you will discover nine stations full of history and stories through historical photos and images. The route leads from Kornsteinplatz through the Salzburger Tor (Salzburg Gate), past the Hallein gallows and the Leprosenkapelle (Leper Chapel) to the Kaltenhausen brewery. Exciting insights into historical events, notable personalities, and little-known places make this lecture an engaging journey through time. Along these 1.4 kilometers, you will find answers to questions such as: Who was the founder of Hallein? Where is a remnant of the Salzburg Gate? Who owns the Leprosenkapelle? Who was supposedly the richest woman in Bavaria around 1815? Additionally, significant locations such as Althallein, the Moldan lime kiln, and the Kreuzigungsgruppe (Crucifixion group) on Salzachtalstraße will be presented along the tour.
