Stories that want to wake up - the art of telling stories from one's own life vividly "We tell children stories to make them fall asleep. Adults, to make them wake up." Stories can do something that facts and arguments often cannot: they let us immerse ourselves. They touch, connect, and open new perspectives. And sometimes they make us marvel. In this workshop, we will search for the stories that lie dormant in our own lives. Because yes: everyone has stories to tell. But at first glance, they sometimes look like a dusty stone by the roadside. We will take a closer look. We will wash, file, and polish. We will discover what makes a story exciting, where its core lies, and what detail makes it shine. And because a good story not only wants to be told but also embodied, we will also look at: How does a story enter the room – with voice, presence, timing? How does a personal memory become a moment that also makes others feel, empathize, or marvel? We will also encounter traditional fairy tales and stories. They open a playful space in which we can experiment with characters, images, perspectives, and narrative styles. We try out, discard, change, play – and experience what happens when a story suddenly comes alive. We explore: What makes a story exciting? Where do the stories hide in my own life? How do I find the core of a personal story? Which details make a story appear before the inner eye? How do I tell so that others feel, empathize, or marvel with me? What can I learn from old stories and fairy tales for my own storytelling? For whom? For everyone who enjoys stories and wants to discover or further develop their own narrative voice – whether in family and friends, at work, or on stage. For everyone who knows about the magic of good stories – and wants to discover this magic for themselves. We work playfully, creatively, and with plenty of room to try things out. No prior knowledge is required – only curiosity and the desire to engage with stories. Because perhaps the next gemstone has long been lying by the roadside. You just have to stop, pick it up, and look closer.
