Ashtanga yoga is a life philosophy, an attitude to life, a journey whose goal is to find oneself. The Sanskrit word "Yoga" means "to connect", referring to the connection of body, mind and soul. "Ashtanga" means eight-limbed path. One of these paths is the physical exercises (asanas). These exercises are connected with each other through dynamic movement elements (vinyasa). The foundation of the entire system is a special, deep breathing technique (Ujjayi breathing) - each asana is guided by the breath. In addition, certain muscle locks (bandhas) are held, which strengthen our core and facilitate our balance. Gaze points (drishtis) keep us focused. Through the dynamics of yoga, we achieve optimal heating of the body, which helps us to stretch and cleanse the body. At the same time, through concentration, meditation and steady breathing, we practice bringing body, mind and soul back into balance....
