We're building a solar boat

What's it about?

In the solar crafting course for children and young people, we build a water-suitable boat from recycled materials such as a fish can, cardboard, and a straw, which is powered by a photovoltaic cell and a solar motor with a propeller. The high-performance solar cell produces electricity from light according to the photovoltaic principle and makes the boat run even on cloudy days. Here, children learn how SOMETHING useful is created from NOTHING (disposable waste and free solar energy). In sunshine or good light, the finished solar boats then make their rounds in the paddling pool or fountain, solely from the power of the sun. Children craft their own toy and recognize the free energy from sunlight and take their boat home.
