'First-class musicians, an excellent singer, great songs, it was spectacular... we nearly lost our breath laughing at the cabaret numbers... well-deserved standing ovations.' 'An extraordinary evening with Magdalena Köchl, whose voice enchanted the hall, supported by great musicians and Edi Jäger, who delivered a verbal inferno. What a wonderful evening!' 'We were all very impressed with the program Pop, Blues & Pointen!!! Magdalena Köchl's voice, presence, and performance left us deeply moved—such a special evening.' Edi Jäger was 120% in his element, and the two musicians were also outstanding. The team of Pop, Blues & Pointen is simply brilliant! POST-EVENT REFLECTION: In 'Pop, Blues & Pointen,' alongside Jäger, Magdalena Köchl and musicians Philipp Kopmajer (drums) and Roli Wesp (piano) are the focus—an seamless interplay between music and cabaret. Magdalena Köchl lent certain pieces a genuine goosebump moment with her sensual, deep alto. Her interpretation of the classic 'House of the Rising Sun' became one of the atmospheric highlights of the evening. Driven by bluesy piano and subtly grooving drums, the song developed into an intense soundscape. Köchl's voice moved confidently between rough blues tones and clear, powerful highs—a performance that truly touched the soul. Her rendition of 'Jolene' showcased her stylistic range—a slightly bluesy interpretation with Roli Wesp shining on the piano with elegant runs, and Philipp Kopmajer grounding the song with restrained yet precise rhythm. Köchl infused the piece with passion and narrative intensity, visibly engaging the audience. Kopmajer demonstrated excellent timing: his drumming was never intrusive but always present and musically intelligent, making his vocal harmony with Magdalena Köchl's alto unforgettable. In between, an eloquent Edi Jäger performed. His speeches ranged from ironic word stakkatos to rapid-fire humor, creating the sensation of laughing at three punchlines simultaneously. His highlight was a sarcastic rendition of a typical village politician's speech, which united the entire audience in a collective, minutes-long burst of laughter. The audience responded enthusiastically—feeling warmly embraced. (mw) Magdalena Köchl, singer, actress, received standing ovations. Phil Kopmajer, exceptional drummer and multi-instrumentalist.
