What's it about?

The Mobile Future Workshop brings circular economy to life. The KEM Klimazukunft Mattigtal launches an innovative upcycling event series. It shows how seemingly waste materials can be transformed into new ideas, useful products, and creative artworks. Together with Gemini Salzburg, the Braunau District Waste Management Association, and other regional partners, circular economy is made tangible in an innovative and practical way. The kickoff takes place on September 26, 2026, at the Braunau Waste Collection Center. Under the motto "Don’t throw away. Instead, look at it. Think. Recreate," visitors of all ages can participate in a varied day of activities with numerous upcycling stations. New products are created from plastic waste, old CDs are artistically redesigned, eyeglass frames are turned into a collaborative artwork, and candle remnants are transformed into practical grill lighters. Additionally, an open workshop invites participants to implement their own ideas. A special highlight is the use of modern technologies such as 3D printing, plastic shredders, injection molding, and other digital manufacturing techniques. These demonstrate that circular economy means much more than recycling — it stands for innovation, resource conservation, and active climate protection. The Braunau District Waste Management Association also provides information about waste prevention, proper waste separation, and the conscious handling of valuable raw materials. The works created as part of the pilot project will be presented and partly auctioned at the Sustainability Market on October 11, 2026, at Schloss Ranshofen. Register now and participate!
