What's it about?
Mobile Future Workshop brings circular economy to life KEM Klimazukunft Mattigtal launches innovative upcycling event series KEM Klimazukunft Mattigtal demonstrates how new ideas, useful products, and creative artworks can emerge from apparent waste with its new Mobile Future Workshop. Together with Gemini Salzburg, the Braunau District Waste Association, and other regional partners, the circular economy is made tangible in an innovative and practical way. The kick-off will be on September 26, 2026, at the Braunau recycling center. Under the motto "Don't throw away. But look. Think. Remake.", visitors of all ages can expect a varied hands-on day with numerous upcycling stations. New products will be created from plastic waste, old CDs will be creatively designed, spectacle frames will be processed into a joint artwork, and candle remnants will be transformed into practical grill lighters. Additionally, an open workshop invites participants to implement their own ideas. A special highlight is the use of modern technologies such as 3D printing, plastic shredders, injection molding, and other digital manufacturing techniques. They impressively show that the circular economy means much more than recycling – namely innovation, resource conservation, and active climate protection. The Braunau District Waste Association will also be present with information, providing valuable insights into waste avoidance, proper waste separation, and the conscious handling of valuable raw materials. The pieces created during the pilot project will then be presented at the Sustainability Market on October 11, 2026, at Ranshofen Castle and some will be raffled off. Register now and participate!
