Einschaltfest am Mattighofner Stadtplatz

What's it about?

With the switching on of the Christmas lights, the Advent season begins in Mattighofen. When the town square is illuminated with festive lights, the pre-Christmas atmosphere takes hold of the town. The switching-on festival takes place on Friday, November 20, 2026, at the town square. Starting at 5:00 PM, children from the Mattighofen kindergartens will march onto the town square with their lanterns. Afterwards, the groups gather around the Christmas tree. The ceremonial switch-on of the Christmas lighting then occurs at 6:00 PM. For visitors, there will be a varied program with musical entertainment, Nikolaus and angels, as well as donkey rides. Additionally, there will be a long shopping evening. Warm drinks and small snacks from the local catering businesses of Mattighofen will add to the pre-Christmas atmosphere at the town square. The participating shops and the Mattighofen merchants look forward to your visit.
