What's it about?

"42,000 Kilometers of Freedom" Multivision by Martin Leonhardt On the second leg of his world trip, photographer Martin Leonhardt's journey continues north to the American continent. Central America provides bizarre stories of dark markets, fire-breathing volcanoes, and heated cockfights. In Mexico, months quickly pass on the way from the Atlantic to the Pacific coast, from the Mayan ruins to the Day of the Dead celebrations. Saying goodbye to the colorful Latin world is difficult, but is compensated by the vast landscapes and canyons of the northwestern USA. Over thousands of lonely kilometers, the journey later continues to the Arctic. There, in the home of grizzly bears and wolves, along the Arctic Circle with its long days and colorful Northern Lights, the proximity of the great wilderness can be felt like never before. ••••• MARTIN LEONHARDT is a speaker, moderator, author, photographer, and adventurer. He has traveled to all continents, including the Arctic and Antarctic, and to more than 80 countries. His travel projects are characterized by a particularly adventurous nature and take him to the most remote regions of our planet. Whether desert, mountains, or rainforest – he has already covered almost 250,000 kilometers overland on his motorcycle. Where the roads end, the real challenges often begin on hikes or mountain climbs. It is particularly important to him to authentically document the lives of people in the countries he visits. For more than two decades, the graduate engineer has shared his gripping stories and photographs in renowned print media and captivated numerous audiences in large lecture halls throughout Germany. He is particularly known for his long-term journeys through North and South America. In addition to his captivating LIVE reports, the photo book "Freiheit" (Freedom) has also been published by Frederking und Thaler Verlag.
