Due to its proximity to the river, it is a dynamic, vegetatively rich place that has repeatedly changed its shape due to floods and sedimentation. Not least, the most prominent inhabitants of the Au – the wild boars – also contribute to the dynamics of the Au landscape through their rooting activity. Due to constant turning of fallen wood, tons of relatively stable sticks and clubs can be found on the forest floor. This veritable “nature-art construction kit” provides optimal conditions in our creative area. The workshop takes place exclusively outdoors. In search of inspiration, we first explore the area extensively. Material-related preliminary exercises show us the design diversity with natural materials and enable us to sensually “grasp” the landscape. From the different impressions and interpretations of the individual seminar participants, usually completely different, but all ephemeral works develop. Instead of striving for perfection, the joy of experimenting with the elements of the landscape is in the foreground. No prior knowledge is required. LANDART means rediscovering the everyday and familiar and making this discovery the starting point for a new idea. Images that emerge from nature and disappear back into it. The intervention is fleeting, the materials perishable. Trees and grasses, stones and sand, water and ice. For the 19th time, Kunstbox Seekirchen is organizing this workshop event, which has developed into a popular, annual autumn highlight. This is probably due to the fact that this special kind of art – creating fragile, ephemeral works from local materials – deeply touches the souls of the participants. By observing, understanding and accepting natural conditions, by experimenting, shaping and designing what is found, by feeling light, weather and space, a close connection with nature is created. This uplifting mixture of art and nature experience with all senses is balm for our soul. This euphoria usually lasts far beyond the workshop period. THE ANTHERINGER AU The Antheringer Au is located in the northern Flachgau on the right bank of the Salzach in the Flachgau municipality of Anthering and is partly a former flood plain of the Salzach. Together with the Weitwörther- and Irlacher Au, it extends over an area of 1,120 ha and is characterized as a special landscape and bird sanctuary. Rare and endangered species such as grey woodpecker, stock dove and other animals can still be found here. In the natural Salzachauen Nature Park, you can observe kingfishers as well as wild boars and beavers. The renaturation of the Salzachauen is the largest LIFE project in the state of Salzburg. LIFE is a funding program of the European Commission that is entirely dedicated to nature and environmental protection and the fight against climate change.
