For children aged 6–10 The CHILDREN'S THEATER CLUB performs "THE MERRY KING – Story Time Becomes Transformation Theater" ABOUT THE PLAY Nobody wants to go to bed – unless Grandma reads a fairy tale first! She opens her old fairy tale book and begins with the story of the merry king, who lives happily with his queen and princess in a beautiful castle, until one day they have to flee from the evil giants... This evening, the children not only listen, but transform the living room into a magical world and slip into the roles of the king, queen, the princess, who is not at all happy that her dad wants to marry her off to a hero as a reward, the brave knights and conceited wizards, all of whom can do nothing against the giants. But help comes from a young minstrel. How does he achieve what no one else has succeeded in doing? How he actually defeats the giants with the help of the whole village and the royal family itself, will not be revealed here yet… Thus, a beautiful fairy tale becomes a magical theatrical journey through a night full of transformations. The only question is, who will clean up the living room afterwards? ABOUT THE COURSE In this course, we will jointly develop our own play. Children will experience how stories are created from the first idea to the finished performance, and contribute their own ideas, wishes, and imagination. Expression, voice, movement, and stage presence are playfully encouraged, while an exciting story is simultaneously created. This will be brought to the stage at the end and celebrated by friends and family with much applause! WORKSHOP LEADER: LYDIA NASSALL From an early age, Lydia Nassall loved everything to do with "dressing up, playing" and dancing. So, directly after graduating from school, she studied acting, dance, and singing in Vienna. This was followed by numerous engagements on German-speaking stages as well as in film and television productions. From 2011 to 2018, she was a member of the ensemble of the "Kinder- und Jugendtheater Eukitea" near Augsburg. There she got to know the medium of theater from an educational perspective and gained experience with children and young people in numerous prevention theater performances and theater pedagogical workshops. Playing theater can strengthen people, open them up to others and themselves, build bridges, liberate, and simply make them happy! Lydia Nassall has lived in Seekirchen am Wallersee for 3 years and is the mother of a daughter. In the Salzburg region, she mainly performs with "die.theaterachse" and "freie bühne salzburg". In addition to her passion for theater, she also works as a storyteller and Contact Tango teacher.
