What's it about?
"Franz - Schubert and Folk Music" Rafael Fingerlos and Sascha El Mouissi, one of the most internationally exciting lied duos of their generation, the Upper Austrian, cosmopolitan folk music ensemble Tschejefem, and the Austrian actor Michael Dangl embark together on an exciting musical quest. Which Schubert song is so well-known that it might even be perceived as a folk song today? Can art songs be created from folk songs? Can Schubert songs and traditional, but also visionary, folk music be combined to create something new? How about a Schubert polka, for example? Is there U-music and E-music, or are we finally overcoming these dusty terms and building musical bridges across genre divides? The artists of this very special evening are sure - Yes, all of this can be done, may be done, must be done! It is up to the interpreters to clear away prejudices and stand up for what was so important to Franz Schubert: to find and promote the connecting, the touching in art, and to bring music to where it belongs.
