Lecture "Mythos Lügenpresse?" - Who Decides What Gets in the Newspaper?

What's it about?

Mag. Ralf Hillebrand, Head of the Science, Health, Media, and Technology section at Salzburger Nachrichten. We all consume news daily. In the daily newspaper, on the radio, via teletext, through 'Zeit im Bild' or 'Servus am Abend', but also on Facebook, Instagram, or X. How do these news stories actually come about? Who decides what is published? Do authorities, parties, millionaires, or companies have the opportunity to intervene? And how can readers influence the reporting? In a lecture shaped by journalistic practice, Ralf Hillebrand explains whether journalists are influenced. He illustrates the processes in the newsroom and provides an overview of Austria's media landscape. Free admission.
