What's it about?

The 50+ years Austropop revue Katharina Straßer & Band Katharina Straßer (voice), Geri Schuller (piano), Hanna Pichler (violin/guitar), Erich Buchebner (bass), Bernhard Egger (drums) celebrates 50 years of Austropop, which is a reason for Straßer to present a very personal 'Tour de Force': "My father thought, 'Zwickt’s mi, i man i tram,' when he first saw my mother. A few years later, it was 'Live Is Life,' and I was born in 1984. Back then, 'Fürstenfeld' was number 1 — also in Innsbruck. Which song did you kiss to at the ski course? For me, it was 'Ruaf mi ned au' — unfortunately, I no longer have his phone number. And did you know that the original Austropop song 'Wie a Glock’n' was never in the top 10?" (Katharina Straßer) Folk actress Katharina Straßer presents a quirky, very personal tribute show. She is a true folk actress; no discipline in which she has not already excelled: musical, cabaret, theater, chanson, film, and television. With her spectacular solo evening 'Alles für’n Hugo,' Katharina Straßer has won the hearts of her Villach audience. Now she energetically dedicates herself to the more than 50-year history of Austropop and classics like 'Fürstenfeld,' 'Live Is Life,' 'Wie a Glock’n,' and many others. Join Katharina Straßer on a journey through the history of Austrian pop music from 1970 to today.
