Wildlife Observation at the Habachtal Feeding Site

Wednesday 6 January · 12:00Parkplatz Habachtal, Habach 35 · salzburg

What's it about?

During the cold and snowy winter months, red deer no longer find enough food. This excursion demonstrates that feeding is not the same everywhere and that active wildlife management offers many unexpected facets. The tour begins at the Habachtal parking lot: we will ride in the tractor trailer for about 25 minutes along a forest road. The last kilometer is covered on foot, accompanied by a professional hunter who will share insights about feeding and red deer. The final 200 meters involve climbing a hill to reach the hidden National Park hut, from where we can observe the stags with their hinds and young calves through the panoramic window on the forest clearing. Meeting point: 1:00 PM, Habachtal parking lot, Habach 35 (fee required) Duration: approximately 4 hours Cost: Free for guests from Neukirchen & Bramberg with guest card/WinterCard, otherwise €22.00 for adults (from 15 years), €13.00 for children (6-14 years) Minimum age: 6 years
