What's it about?
The New Year's Eve Gala features a fireworks display of melodies, arias, ensembles, hits! Catchy tunes, earworms, and favorite pieces from the world of opera and great voices. Famous opera hits by Verdi and Puccini, such as La donna e mobile or the Star Arias, are included, as well as an ensemble-driven and powerfully sung Brindisi from La Traviata. Good voices and a fantastic atmosphere will set the tone for the New Year... Since 2008, the Opera im Berg Festival has been under the patronage of world star Grace Bumbry and in homage to Luciano Pavarotti, showcasing outstanding voices engaged through the annual Grandi Voci competition, along with classical staging and wonderful opera productions, which are now rarely seen. In recent years, the festival has been held in the Great Hall, Salzburg's oldest opera house (400 years), where Mozart premiered his first opera.
