Woyzeck - Theater der Mitte - Eine Freakshow
What's it about?
Theater der Mitte Woyzeck - A Freakshow by Georg Büchner. Directed by Benjamin Blaikner. Music by Benjamin Blaikner. Set design by Hannes Öhlböck. Costumes by Franziska Krug. Featuring Max Pfnür (acting and text adaptation). Production by Theater der Mitte. Suitable for ages 14 and up. Duration approximately 95 minutes. Come closer! A gaudy circus invites you. It is not the deformed who cause shudders here. In the distorted mirror of vanity, the upright are unmasked — the jovial supervisor, cold science, the ruthless rival. The simple soldier Woyzeck seeks his place in this circle — disillusioned, humiliated, mocked. When his relationship with Marie breaks down, bloody fate takes its course. Max Pfnür plays all roles in Büchner's classic — a modern adaptation full of vivid colors, quirky humor, touching depth, and moving live music.
