Anna Mabo & Clemens Sainitzer
What's it about?
Anna Mabo has shaped new songs from the works of Ernst Jandl, partly in a collage-like manner, but without changing a single syllable. They have become wonderful little stories, brilliant and touching, mysterious and at the same time convincing. The fact that they do not appear pieced together but unified is also thanks to Mabos' musical partner – almost to be called a 'twin' – Clemens Sainitzer. He is possibly the most versatile cellist in Austria and has already set his own and others' texts to music in his solo program. This project (funded by an Ö1 composition commission) was created on the occasion of Jandl's 100th birthday on August 1, 2025, and premiered at the Glatt & Verkehrt Festival 2025.
