Jedefrau – a Contemporary Reinterpretation of Hofmannsthal's Jedermann

What's it about?

"Jedefrau" deconstructs Hugo von Hofmannsthal's "Jedermann" from a female perspective and replaces the divine figure with a goddess. Directed by Nicholas Monu, Tanja Kuntze and Torsten Hermentin question traditional roles, power structures, and religious narratives. The production spans from historical mechanisms of oppression to digital phenomena such as deepfakes or the Manosphere – and shows how the supposed order of Jedermann begins to falter. With brutal honesty, it addresses issues of waste, privileges, and the marginalization of female experiences. More information is available on the official event page.
