Quarrels in Chioggia by Carlo Goldoni

What's it about?

Carlo Goldoni's comedy "Quarrels in Chioggia" (1761) tells of love, jealousy, and the abysses of living together: In the small port town of Chioggia, a harmless flirt is enough to shake a web of relationships. Misunderstandings escalate, rumors spread, and playful arguments turn into bitter seriousness. It shows how quickly communities can tip – whether in an 18th-century fishing village or between office cubicles and virtual group chats. Calis, known for documentary contemporary theater, brings Goldoni's classic to the stage with a modern look at social roles, gender images, and power dynamics.More information on the official event page.
