Horak plays Ostbahn

Horak plays Ostbahn

Thursday 17 September · 20:00Salzburg Rockhouse · salzburg

What's it about?

Leo Bei alias Karl Horak was the producer and legendary bassist of Dr. Kurt Ostbahn. With a top-class band, the singer and multi-instrumentalist (also known from EAV) will play live some of the greatest hits of his long-time companion Kurt Ostbahn. Of course, the best stories from the time of "Ostbahn-Kurti & die Chefpartie" will also not be missing. There is probably no musician who would be more qualified and authentic when it comes to the immortal hits of Willi Resetarits. Leo Bei – known in the Ostbahn bands as Karl Horak – not only played the bass but also produced some of the most legendary sound carriers, which back then were still called records. When Karl Horak leads the band that bears his surname onto the stage today, the focus is not on melancholic remembrance, but on celebrating the life's work of Ostbahn-Kurti or Kurt Ostbahn. Nevertheless, it is two hours full of nostalgia, because the playlist includes many classics that have accompanied entire generations. It would probably be in Willi's spirit that his hits are still played live today – interpreted by one of his long-time companions. The party can start, because with the setlist that Horak now presents again on the stages of Austria, no dancing leg remains still: "Joker", "Arbeit", "57 Chevy" are just some of the rocking highlights. Sentimentality arises when it comes to the slower numbers, such as "Es gibt Strassn" or "Stadt aus Sta". Or when Leo Bei alias Karl Horak tells anecdotes, stories, and tales from his many years together with Kurt Ostbahn. Following the overwhelming success and enthusiastic reactions from fans at a sold-out gig in Szene Wien, the encore now follows – with shows across the country. It should also be noted, however, that Leo Bei – in addition to his recordings and performances with Kurt Ostbahn – also played bass for EAV for many decades. But that is another chapter in Horak's success story, which almost reaches back to the beginnings of the independent, local music scene.
