What's it about?
Jesse Barnett, singer of the US hardcore band Stick To Your Guns, has been one of the most distinctive voices in a genre that is usually louder than its reputation for over a decade and a half. Parallel to his band work, Barnett has pursued a number of independent musical projects, including the atmospherically dense alternative duo Trade Wind, with whom he has released several internationally acclaimed works. His solo acoustic performances are not a change of style, but a reduction to the core of his craft. Barnett presents material from various phases of his work – pieces that otherwise stand in the context of loud guitars, as well as releases that he realized as a guest musician or collaborator. In recent years, he has worked with artists from the fields of hardcore, post-hardcore, alternative, and singer-songwriter, among others; his broad stylistic spectrum, which regularly leads him beyond genre boundaries, is striking.
