Unplugged, acoustic, pared down ... Ambros pur! has been running successfully for over ten years. Full houses, a direct connection to the audience, the songs in a form reduced to the essentials, and Wolfgang Ambros who clearly feels comfortable in this configuration. "It's fun to play like this, and as you get older, you don't want it so loud anymore," he says. A classic Ambros pur statement. Just like the person, the artist, the songs and the show. Unvarnished, authentic, and now timeless. It is highly commendable of Wolfgang Ambros that he does not try to hide aging for a second. From the rock ’n’ roller who filled the Vienna Stadthalle multiple times to the singer-songwriter who now frames his songs as only classics deserve. Wolfgang sits on a stool, talks, plays, sings. And it’s simply wonderful to watch and hear him. Ambros is now on the road for the sixth time with "pur". He initially started with his long-time friend, keyboardist Günter Dzikowski, as a duo. Wolfgang on guitar, Günter on the keys. For the past year and a half, they have been a trio. Roland “Roli” Vogl enriches the arrangements with his guitar, bass, ukulele, and whatever else he picks, strums, or strokes on stage during the program. From the very first pur! gig, Ambros has drawn from his rich repertoire. Songs from 1971 up to current titles. A time travel that doesn’t feel like one at all. Although some songs are from more than forty years ago, the age differences of the songs are not noticeable. Humorous, harmonious, melancholic, and wonderfully Austrian.
