What's it about?
Every week, our local suppliers present themselves at Harnoncourt Square to offer you special delicacies for the weekend. Whenever it approaches Friday noon, an irresistible smell of roast chicken can be detected in Attergaustraße. It is market day again! The 'Hendlwagen' (roast chicken van) already takes its place in front of the town hall at midday, and by 2:00 PM, all other stalls have arrived and are offering their goods for sale. Karl Egle initiated the Attergauer Weekly Market in 2012. Over time, the market has become an important institution of the community. Every Friday from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, visitors can find fresh, primarily regional products at Nikolaus Harnoncourt Square in front of the St. Georgen town hall. Not only the selection is impressive, but personal contact with customers is also important to the vendors. The farmers' wives from St. Georgen have been a fixed part of the Attergauer Weekly Market from the beginning, offering freshly baked farmers' doughnuts and Pofesen. In addition to regional cheese, bread, honey, bacon, and sausage specialties, visitors can also find regional and seasonal vegetables as well as fresh flowers.
