What happens when an Arab-origin boy is raised Catholic, grows up in Upper Austria, and desperately tries to become a 'normal Austrian'? In his solo program 'Arabisch, Katholisch, Integriert – Das zerrissene Kind' (Arabic, Catholic, Integrated – The Torn Child), Sebastian Humi tells with pointed humor about identity, adaptation, and the daily balancing act between origin and Austrian reality. Between church choir, family celebrations, and integration efforts, he searches for his place in a society where one should belong – but not stand out too much. With sharp wit and a lot of self-irony, Sebastian Humi takes the audience into his family world and shares stories of cultural misunderstandings, Austrian peculiarities, and the art of remaining seated between all chairs. He never preaches but observes, exaggerates, and laughs heartily – about prejudices, expectations, and himself. The native Arab, born in 1990, grew up in Upper Austria and lived in Linz, Salzburg, and Graz before moving to the comedy stages of Vienna. There, he hosts the show 'Comedy Boom' and advocates for new voices in the comedy scene.
