What's it about?
On November 12, OKH Vöcklabruck invites to a concert with the Armin Jambor Quartet. The Vienna-based quartet led by saxophonist Armin Jambor stands for modern jazz with a strong melodic narrative flow. The four musicians – Armin Jambor (tenor saxophone), Mátyás Bartha (piano), Miloš Čolović (bass), and Oleg Markov (drums) – are among the sought-after voices of the Austrian jazz scene. Their music combines lyrical melodies with complex compositions and energetic improvisation. Influences from European and American jazz traditions merge into a distinctive sound that balances modern aesthetics with respect for jazz history. Just before the concert in Vöcklabruck, the debut album "Touch & Fade" will be released in cooperation with G2 and Sony Music – the performance at OKH is part of the international release tour, which will also take the quartet to Barcelona, Valencia, Berlin, and Cologne. Saxophonist Rick Margitza describes the ensemble's music as fresh and energetic, with a relaxed and natural execution of sophisticated compositions.
