What's it about?

Every Friday from 7 a.m. onwards - the Ischler weekly market. If Friday falls on a public holiday, the weekly market takes place on Thursday at the same time. Bad Ischl and the Salzkammergut region have long been known for their culinary delights and enjoyment, so it is perhaps no surprise that local specialties and delicacies from afar are found side by side at the Ischler weekly market. The pleasure of visiting the market is available to every gourmet weekly on Fridays from 7 a.m. onwards. The scent of fresh bread, oriental spices, and freshly baked pastries can already be heard from afar at Auböckplatz and in the Kaiser-Franz-Josef Straße. Also unmistakable are the countless traditional costumes worn by many, which are popular among both young and old on Trachten Friday. This festival day has a long tradition in the Salzkammergut and is still celebrated today. Its origins are entirely due to the residents of the imperial city, who celebrate Trachten Friday in traditional dirndls and lederhosen.
