Experience history and enjoy art:Historical tours and calligraphy exhibition at the Bärenriedlau Hütte A special cultural and nature experience awaits hikers in the Kalkalpen National Park: At the over 300-year-old Bärenriedlau Hütte in the southern Sensengebirge, which is maintained by the Austrian Federal Forests and will again be open for free viewing this August and September, history, nature and the art of beautiful writing merge. From August 13 to September 6, 2026, National Park Ranger Elisabeth Humer will be at the hut from Thursday to Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm. During free guided tours, she takes visitors on an exciting journey through the history of the region. She reports on the living habits of Archduke Franz Ferdinand and traces the transformation from the former imperial hunting ground to today's wildlife sanctuary in the Kalkalpen National Park.
