Apples are true all-rounders. They are rich in vitamin C, dietary fiber (pectin), and secondary plant compounds. Regular consumption boosts the immune system, stimulates digestion, and provides quickly available energy. Apples have been proven to promote heart health and keep you fit. The significance of the action day The Day of the Apple traditionally takes place on the second Friday in November. It was initiated by local fruit growers to highlight the importance of regional and seasonal products and to honor the apple as Austria's most important fruit. Regional diversity The best place to discover these regional treasures is the weekly market at the main square. On November 14, the selection will be expanded with additional regional vendors. Stefanie and Martin Fröschl from Sankt Thomas am Blasenstein will bring fresh apples from their own cultivation, apple chips, applesauce, apple brandy, and cider. At Andreas Moser's stall from Mitterkirchen, market visitors can taste a delicious apple cider.
