Giorgio Conte, born in Asti, northern Italy, in 1941, is a singer-songwriter, musician, and lawyer – and the younger brother of the famous Paolo Conte. Although he started in his brother's shadow, he quickly developed his own style, which made him an independent figure in the Italian music scene. He initially wrote songs for artists such as Mina, Ornella Vanoni, and Adriano Celentano before starting a solo career as a singer-songwriter in the 1990s. With subtle humor and poetic depth, he succeeds in capturing everyday experiences and cultural peculiarities in his lyrics. The music of Giorgio Conte combines elements of chanson, swing, and folk with a touch of jazz. His songs exude a warm, intimate atmosphere. His style always remains accessible and charming, characterized by melodic lightness and lovingly ironic lyrics.
