Astrid Starrermayr Participation fee: 35 euros including materials Register at: astrid@as-art.at Astrid Starrermayr makes fabric flowers bloom without buying new fabrics. The flowers are hand-sewn from 4 to 5 fabric circles/stash pieces and are suitable for various decorative purposes. You can playfully create a flower garland, a door wreath, jewelry such as brooches or earrings, pictures (connecting 2D and 3D elements), decorate place cards for a special occasion, and much more. All kinds of fabric scraps are suitable. This is an opportunity to create something completely new from small leftovers – upcycling is the motto. First, Astrid will show you how to hand-sew the fabric flower, then you can get started and let something new 'grow' from the blossoms. With a little dexterity, patience, and imagination, stunning new floral objects will blossom under your hands. The instructor will bring a colorful potpourri of fabrics from her collection, as well as sewing threads, glass beads, and buttons, which you are welcome to use. The participation fee includes the cost of materials. Of course, you are also invited to bring your own fabrics and buttons. This way, your personal story connected to the material can be incorporated into the flowers. About the instructor: Under her label 'A punkt S punkt,' Astrid Starrermayr mainly designs and creates accessories such as bags and jewelry. They are often colorful and tell a personal story. "I like to describe myself as a 'sewing acrobat' – a creative tinkerer because I enjoy telling a story through an accessory." Sustainability also plays an important role in her creations. Astrid gives discarded materials a second life: lost umbrellas, old towels, worn-out T-shirts, or fabric scraps that would otherwise go to waste are transformed into unique, handcrafted products.
