In this workshop, decorative pieces for the neck, arm, hips, fingers, and more are created using simple techniques such as braiding, knotting, and sewing, which are both individual and sustainable. With a little experimentation and dexterity, we craft small, unexpected treasures from fabric. In a cozy setting, participants can sew, chat, and try out what they like. The motto is to create something new from colorful fabrics and accessories that will look enchanting at the end of the workshop. Jewelry does not have to be hard and shiny; it can also be soft and sustainable. The instructor will bring a colorful assortment from her fabric stash, as well as sewing silk, glass beads, ribbons, and other sewing accessories for participants to use. The material costs are already included in the participation fee. Participants are also welcome to bring their own fabrics. This way, the personal story connected to the fabric can be incorporated into the new jewelry. About the instructor: Under her label "A punkt S punkt," Astrid Starrermayr designs and creates mainly accessories such as bags and jewelry. They are often colorful and tell a personal story. "I like to call myself a 'sewing acrobat'—a creative tinkerer because I enjoy telling a story through an accessory," says Starrermayr. Sustainability also plays an important role in her creations. Astrid gives discarded materials a second life: lost umbrellas, old towels, worn-out T-shirts, or fabric scraps that would otherwise go to waste are transformed into unique, handcrafted products.
