Nikola JakadofskyParticipation fee: 45 euros including material costs Registration required: nikojakadofsky@gmail.com A beautiful gift for a loved one, or joy for your own cozy hours: a incense bowl is the ideal project to dive into the art of ceramics. In this workshop, participants will learn to make their own. They grow in many accessible and hidden places: aromatic and powerful incense plants, which have been used for centuries for protection and purification: juniper, mugwort, wild thyme (Quendel), angelica root, and others. Together, the participants will create their personal incense bowl from clay with instructor Nikola Jakadofsky, using impressions of these wild plants. Please bring herbs! Participants are asked to bring work clothes and their favorite fresh herbs to the workshop! The participation fee includes the material costs for one incense bowl (fired in Nikola Jakadofsky's studio and then handed over to the participants). An additional fee of 5 euros will be charged for each extra incense bowl. About the instructor: A refugee from Vienna, now a resident of Mühlviertel: "After studying at the Art University in Linz, my partner and I moved to the small village of Rechberg, nestled in green hills and forests in the east of the Lower Mühlviertel. Functional and vessel ceramics are my daily bread. We opened our studio in an old cow barn of a farm. There, I create vessels for plants, vases, lamps, garden spheres, sundials, and tiles for masonry ovens in a technique that unmistakably bears my signature. I draw most of my inspiration from the wonderful nature. Leaves, grasses, flower shapes, the silhouettes of willow branches by the stream... I incorporate these in a reduced, stylized form into my designs."
