Artistic Highlights from 10 Years

What's it about?

Gallery on the 1st floor, free admission. When the mük in Freistadt celebrates its 10th anniversary this year, it also marks another anniversary: 10 years of the gallery in mük! This will be honored with a top-class special exhibition in July, August, and September – under the annual motto: "Luckily there's mük". Approximately every two months, mük presents a solo exhibition by an artist. And in summer and December, thematically organized group exhibitions are arranged – such as "glasklar" (crystal clear) last summer, where several glass artists showed their different approaches to the material. Since October 2016, around 60 exhibitions have already taken place. To be allowed to exhibit at mük is sought after, and the waiting list is long. The charm of diversity Diversity is a trademark of mük, and just as diverse as the products in the sales rooms on the three floors were the previous exhibitions, each carefully curated by Carin Fürst, supported by Karin Geishofer, who showcased the art objects in the best light. This year, the two curators are looking back and presenting their favorite pieces from the past 10 years. They found it truly difficult to choose from such a large number of beautiful works. Highlights from 10 years A balanced mix of two- and three-dimensional exhibits, made from a wide variety of materials, showcasing aesthetics and humor, from exhibitions long past or more recent, by female and male artists, will now be shown. Visitors to mük can look forward to these highlights from 10 years. As always, the exhibited artworks can also be purchased. However, since each person is represented by only a single work this time, all exhibits will remain in mük until the end of the exhibition. The exhibition begins on Wednesday, July 1st and runs until Saturday, September 26th.
