What's it about?

The "Verein zur Sanierung und Erhaltung der Hammerschmiede St. Agatha" (Association for the Renovation and Preservation of the St. Agatha Hammer Mill) was founded in December 1992. In October 1992, the municipality of St. Agatha purchased the hammer mill in Wiesenparz, and the hammer mill association, with numerous volunteers, renovated the hammer mill, preserving its original appearance. In 1998, two water wheels were manufactured and installed in the hammer mill. In autumn 1999, after water rights approval, the water supply from the Dittersdorfer and Mühlgrabenbach streams could be restored. On September 17, 2000, the renovated hammer mill was opened and blessed during a morning get-together. In 2020, the hammer mill was renovated with over 2,800 hours of volunteer work and further support from numerous companies and private individuals. The roof and the entire wooden structure had to be renewed. The hammer mill is often visited by school classes and travel groups...
