Carlos Motta: Pleas of Resistance
What's it about?
Politics of visibility. Pleas of Resistance marks the first major European museum exhibition that comprehensively showcases Motta's artistic development. It combines more than twenty-five years of artistic practice and brings together early photographic self-portraits with recent video performances and installations in four interconnected chapters. These focus on pre-Columbian homoeroticism, the politics of care as a space of queer liberation, acts of self-determination beyond the human, and the storytelling of silenced histories as a practice of sharing, mutual nurturing, and resistance.
