For over five decades, Peter Cornelius has been one of the most successful singer-songwriters in the German-speaking world. Many of his songs have long become household names – classics like "Reif für die Insel," "Segel im Wind," and of course "Du entschuldige i kenn di." In 2026, the exceptional artist will turn 75 and will celebrate this with a major tour! The frontman, singer-songwriter, and lead guitarist Peter Cornelius, known for his heartfelt ballads and uptempo songs with profound lyrics, also loved for his virtuoso guitar playing, will mark his 75th birthday with a large tour in 2026. Accompanying him on stage will be his band, with bass, drums, and keyboards. Born in Vienna in 1951, Cornelius is one of the most influential German-speaking songwriters. His music is always inspired by personal experiences and social observations. "Sometimes I write and compose whether I want to or not – reflexively. As if it were the most normal thing in the world to do." Much of this can be heard in his songs. They are a wonderful array of windows, created over the years, offering glimpses into the innermost self of the man. In his concerts, you are taken as a traveler and immersed in the world he brings. "Strangely, going on tour at 75 seems more natural to me than at 40 or 50. I early adopted the song "I'm not like everybody else" by the Kinks as my life motto – as a guide. With each song, Cornelius provides energy, encourages, often makes you think, and sometimes there is meaning between the lines, leading his audience there – to the in-between tones. His songs are total works of art written in his unmistakable style. "Over the years, I have repeatedly been told that my songs are timeless. I am timeless."
