Serge, a successful dermatologist and aesthete, has bought the monochrome painting and now enthusiastically presents it to his friends. Marc, an engineer, cannot believe it and reacts indignantly, even seeing the purchase as a betrayal of their friendship. Yvan, rather erratic professionally, has enough problems of his own with his upcoming wedding and prefers not to take a stand at all. The abstract work of art becomes a catalyst that puts the feelings of three men, their friendship, their entire existence to the test. Yasmina Reza, one of the most successful playwrights worldwide, wrote her first great success with "Art", premiered in Paris in 1994. The comedy, full of brilliant dialogues, received several important awards and has been translated into over 40 languages.
