Linzer Torte with Whipped Cream
What's it about?
A pastry parade. Jackson from New York receives a mysterious letter from the Old World, from "a place called Upper Austria." It praises perhaps the best cake in the world: "This is what Europe tastes like." Enclosed is a sample - a signature made of redcurrant jam, the sweet secret of the Linzer Torte. Fascinated, Jackson follows the trail of this delicacy. But already at the Austrian border, it becomes clear that his mission will not be without obstacles. Between local peculiarities, linguistic stumbling blocks, and culinary revelations, he encounters a tender love story and a solid lesson in bureaucracy. After his football evening Das Derby, David Bösch dedicates his third stage text to pastries - and thus to a core piece of Austrian identity. With much humor, music, and a wink, he celebrates not only the Linzer Torte but also the peculiarities of the people who surround it: an evening of folk theater with singing, humor, and a sense of culinary delight.
