What's it about?

The musical based on Roald Dahl's successful novel tells the inspiring story of a girl who dreams of a better life, and equally impressively recounts childish anarchy and the power of imagination. Matilda has won almost 50 awards and delights people of all ages around the world with energetic dance numbers, witty songs and fantastic roles. Matilda is a girl with astonishing intelligence and psychokinetic powers. She is bullied by her uneducated parents, but impresses her teacher Miss Honey, who quickly recognizes Matilda's extraordinary abilities. However, the headmistress Agatha Trunchbull hates children and gleefully punishes anyone who does not follow her rules. But Matilda is as brave as she is clever: Trunchbull meets her match. A joyful girl-power fun, for which the Landestheater selected nineteen children from 300 applicants, who will make the big stage of the Musiktheater tremble alongside the Linz musical ensemble.
