For many years, the ensemble Faltenradio has been one of the most extraordinary phenomena on the Austrian music scene. The four musicians – all masters of their instruments and with extensive stage experience in classical, folk, and jazz music – combine seemingly contradictory elements into a distinctive sound. With clarinets, bass clarinet, and Styrian harmonica, they create a fascinating mix of virtuosity, humor, and joy of playing. In their new program "Überschall" (Supersonic), Faltenradio celebrates its 15th anniversary. The title is programmatic: with speed, lightness, and a good dose of self-irony, the musicians break through the boundaries between genres – from traditional folk music to classical, to jazzy and improvised elements.
