The School of Seeing (Autumn Date)
What's it about?
"Capturing the colours of autumn..." Botanical Illustration with Alois Wilfling In autumn, the Botanical Garden once again displays its full splendour of colours. We want to capture these impressions and – in the truest sense of the word – put them on paper. The two-day workshop on Botanical Illustration is entirely dedicated to depicting leaves, fruits and seeds of old fruit varieties. Participants will be taught the basics of Botanical Illustration and Pomology, as well as interesting facts about old fruit varieties, and will be expertly guided and supported in trying out different techniques (focus on watercolour). No prior knowledge required! The course instructor, biologist and scientific illustrator Mag. Alois Wilfling, holds a Kew Certificate in Botanical Illustration (trained at the Royal Botanical Garden, London). In addition, he has been intensively involved in pomological research at the Institute for Applied Ecology & Basic Research (OIKOS) for more than 10 years. Two-day workshop: Friday, September 11 to Saturday, September 12, 9 am - 4 pm each day. Min. 8, max. 16 participants. Required equipment: Material list will be sent after registration.
