Ars Electronica Nightline

Ars Electronica Nightline

Friday 11 September · 23:00Posthof · oberoesterreich

What's it about?

What happens when negotiation is not conducted through words, but through bodies, frequencies, and collective presence? In a time when language is becoming harsher, Nightline creates a counter-model: a physical, shared space where different perspectives can meet, instead of inevitably tipping into irreconcilable opposites. The Ars Electronica Nightline 2026 at Linzer Posthof does not seek answers; it turns the question itself into an experience. Farce opens the night. Veronika König's Viennese avant-pop project refuses any definition. What remains is movement between dance floor and experiment, between control and dissolution. Arthur Hnatek & Sophie Le Meillour transform the space into a living system. Hnatek, winner of the Swiss Music Prize 2022, combines acoustic drums with live electronics. Le Meillour responds in real-time with macro-filmed natural textures. Yao Bobby & Simon Grab enter political territory. The Togolese rapper and activist Bobby addresses colonial legacies and African injustices in Ewe, French, and English. Swiss noise artist Grab responds with feedback, dub, and sonic error as a method. Together, they create a volatile mixture of freeform rap and noise that breaks down sonic, social, and political boundaries. Owelle & Structurals construct PST_CRP - a fictional corporate universe that combines hardware electronics, field recordings, and generative real-time visuals. What initially appears as corporate aesthetics becomes an act of dismantling. Nadia Struiwigh moves between meditative openness and percussive discharge, working with hardware and intuition, staying close to the present moment. Zobayda concludes the night. The Egyptian multidisciplinary artist draws from sounds of the Global South and its diaspora, exploring storytelling, memory, and sound as tools for coming together and resistance.
