Dietmar Brehm: Point and Echo

What's it about?

For several decades, Linz artist Dietmar Brehm has been working in the media of film, video, painting, drawing, and photography. The focus of the exhibition at the Linz Schlossmuseum is on his painting and drawing work from the last decade. Brehm's painting is characterized by an unmistakable visual language; often, he places a few concise symbols on the canvas. Despite recognizable forms and reduced settings, his pictorial inventions are never easy to decipher. Rather, it is an enigmatic interplay of signs and supposed codes that characterizes his visual world. A separate room in the exhibition will also be dedicated to Brehm's experimental filmmaking, which has been recognized internationally for decades. More about the exhibition
