What's it about?

How does design actually come about? What does a robot do? How do ideas become something tangible? And what do creative professionals work on all day? In the Creative Summer School by Creative Region, children aged 8 to 12 will dive into the fascinating world of the creative industry for a week, right in the Tabakfabrik Linz, one of the most exciting places for innovation, design, and new ideas. Here, it's not just about watching – it's about trying out, designing, and discovering. A week full of ideas, creativity & insights Together with experts from Tabakfabrik and Creative Region, children will experience how diverse creative professions can be. They will get to know different industries and gain playful insights into the daily work of designers, photographers, developers, and many more. What's special: Each day has its own theme, and "doing" is always at the center: We design the fashion of the future We dive into the world of photography We develop ideas and implement them We get to know robots All without dry theory, but with plenty of room to try out, discover, and be creative. Right here, where new ideas are born daily, children can look behind the scenes, get to know companies, and become creative themselves. Participating companies We are currently working on a diverse program together with companies from Tabakfabrik and Creative Region. The following companies are participating partners: Creative Robotics: Creative Robotics takes you into the world of robots and Artificial Intelligence. From small, collaborative robot arms to large industrial robots and humanoid robotics: At the University of Art and Design Linz, we research how humans and robots can communicate with each other – and we want to try that out with you. Fashion & Technology of the University of Art and Design Linz: In the Fashion & Technology department at the University of Art and Design Linz, fashion becomes truly exciting: Here, creative ideas meet new technologies and innovative materials. At the Tabakfabrik location, pioneering fashion concepts are created – from sustainable clothing to inclusive designs, intelligent textiles, and 3D-printed unique pieces. Experimenting, trying out, and discovering new things are at the center – this is how fashion is not only designed but completely rethought. ms.fotogroup: At ms.foto.group, everything revolves around the passion for strong images and exciting products. In the photo studio in Tabakfabrik Linz, impressive shots are created in the areas of food, fashion/people, still life, and much more. Here, creative ideas meet clever planning – this is how photo projects from very different areas are implemented with great skill and at the highest level. Ars Electronica Solutions: At Ars Electronica Solutions, fascinating worlds of experience are created that combine technology, creativity, and exciting ideas. Here, interactive exhibitions, impressive events, and special experience spaces are developed that invite you to marvel, participate, and discover. With innovative technologies and a lot of creativity, unique projects are designed that appeal to all senses and show how exciting the future can be. Creative Region Linz: The Creative Region Linz & Upper Austria is a place where creative ideas come alive. Here, everything revolves around design, media, art, and innovation – and about thinking and trying out new ways. Exciting projects, f
