Wild-Herbal Walk: Forest Treasures, Moss & Lichens

What's it about?

In the shaded corners of our forests, true wonders unfold: mosses and lichens are silent heroes of nature. They play a crucial role in our ecosystem. Their quiet growth and remarkable adaptability are a fascinating testament to the power of nature. While herbs, shrubs, and trees are very popular, these inconspicuous plants invite us to dive into a completely new world. Even though the use of mosses and lichens is not as well known, they still have a place in traditional folk medicine. Join me for a walk through the Waldviertel nature and discover the healing power of the forest. You will learn: - to identify the most common mosses and lichens - to understand the enormous contribution of mosses and lichens to our ecosystem - how to propagate mosses and lichens - how to properly harvest and process forest treasures like needles and resins - how to make plant extracts such as herbal oil or a tincture - how to make a herbal ointment from mosses and resins Discover the hidden powers that lie in wild plants. On a route through forest and meadow, we will closely examine mosses, lichens, and trees. Afterwards, we will jointly create a moss ointment as a keepsake.
