The quartet connects musical worlds between Orient and Occident to create a unique chamber music experience. With sitar, violin, viola, violoncello and double bass, floating soundscapes emerge between Indian tradition and European music, creating a fascinating atmosphere full of warmth, virtuosity and musical magic. This project was initiated by sitar player Klaus Falschlunger and Clemens Rofner (double bass), who also contribute the original compositions. With a fascinating mixture of exotic and well-known sounds, the ensemble masterfully succeeds in giving even tightly constructed sound structures an easily graspable form. Since the Austrian musician Klaus Falschlunger came into contact with the Indian sitar over 30 years ago and has since developed into a master, he has become a master of the instrument and an active representative of the Indian-European scene in Europe. He is currently one of the most distinguished and versatile sitar players in Europe. After three years of study in New Delhi and Varanasi in North India and later in Vienna, he increasingly explored his musical boundaries and those of the instrument. Note: The concert takes place in the Propsteikirche Zwettl (address: Propsteigasse 1, 3910 Zwettl). Line-up: Lydia Kurz 6 Violin/Viola Irina Zehm 6 Violoncello Clemens Rofner 6 Double Bass Klaus Falschlunger 6 Sitar
