Exhibition in Galerie 12 and Kirchenplatz 5 (apartment)Prof. Arnulf Neuwirth (1912-2012)Fourteen years ago, the painter and graphic artist Arnulf Neuwirth passed away at the age of 100 in Eggenburg. Neuwirth, who also worked as an author and art critic, as well as a teacher at the fashion school in Vienna-Hetzendorf, was engaged in watercolor and oil painting and collage until the very end, for which he had already received international recognition in the 1950s. Stylistically, the artist moved between Surrealism, abstraction, and naive tendencies, with poetic, narrative landscape paintings from the Waldviertel and Weinviertel dominating his late work.
