The Brothers Gillespie - folk alchemists from Northumbria live in concert as part of their Austria-Southern Germany tour at the Kulturwochen Eggenburg 2026. Folk Radio UK describes The Brothers Gillespie as a duo that "weaves a particularly captivating magic and shows British Contemporary Folk Music in its most radiant light". Brothers James and Sam Gillespie sing songs of great lyrical power, originating in the wild nature of Northumbria, the border region between Northern England and Scotland. Their music draws on the Celtic heritage and the transformative experiences of the mystical nature of their homeland, and is enlivened by the soaring sound of sibling vocal harmony and inspired, multi-instrumental virtuosity. After their premiere in the German-speaking world at the Kulturwochen Eggenburg and in Vienna in 2025 with an overwhelmingly enthusiastic audience, they are now guests again in the festival hall of the Town Hall in Eggenburg as part of their extended tour through Southern Germany and Austria! One can be particularly excited about the pre-presentation of songs from their new, long-awaited 4th album, which will be released in October 2026. The live performances of the Brothers Gillespie radiate a warm, intimate energy that is at once earthy and ethereal, romantic and radical.
